Mexico Stocks Preview july 25 2011

Grupo Mexico, Industrias Penoles stock Preview july 25 2011 : The following companies are having unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 1 p.m. New York time.

The IPC index fell 0.4 percent to 35,597.23.

Grupo Mexico SAB (GMEXICOB MM), the country’s largest mining company, declined 1.2 percent to 42.29 pesos. The company said July 22 that it has been notified of a lawsuit by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB, seeking an injunction to block the mining company’s offer to buy shares of the airport group known as GAP.

Industrias Penoles SAB (PE&OLES* MM), Mexico’s largest silver producer, gained 2.5 percent to 526 pesos, its highest price since it began trading in 1992. Silver futures for September delivery rose 40.3 cents, or 1 percent, to $40.525 an ounce on the Comex.
