Its revenue came in at $6.92 billion. Excluding items, Google's earnings came in at $8.74 per share. Analysts were expecting earnings of $7.84 per share on revenue of $6.54 billion. GOOG shares jumped 12.62% to $595.69 in the after-hours trading session.

Analysts expect Mattel Inc (NASDAQ: MAT) to report its Q2 earnings at $0.16 per share on revenue of $1.11 billion. MAT shares rose 0.78% to $27.00 in after-hours trading.

Valmont Industries Inc (NYSE: VMI) reported upbeat second quarter results and lifted its full-year earnings forecast.VMI reported its quarterly net income at $45.8 million, or $1.72 per share, up from $17.1 million, or $0.65 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue surged to $668.6 million, from $481.6 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.45 per share on revenue of $614.9 million. VMI shares gained 6.47% to $107.75 in after-hours trading.
